After a long and cold winter, it’s finally spring! The sun
is shining, the birds are singing and people are starting to bust out their
swim suits and flip-flops! One of the many springtime services we offer here at
Fernbrook Landscape is spring start-ups.
But what exactly are spring start-ups, and why are they so important for your
irrigation system?
Spring start-ups are basically the way your irrigation
system is reactivated after the winter months are over for good. Several
different routine maintenance checks are done to ensure your irrigation system
runs smoothly and hasn’t sustained damage during the cold months. You can’t
just turn the water on and expect your irrigation system to operate like
normal. So here are a few things we will check when we come.
We will check and adjust all of the sprinkler heads. They
will be checked for any damage that might have occurred during the winter. We
will also check and adjust the electronic controller, plus we will check the
backflow device. From there, we will gradually reapply the water pressure to
the mainline. We do this by slowly refilling the main irrigation system from
the main shut-off valve.
This is a carefully executed procedure, and we are always
cautious with these systems to avoid any unnecessary damage, which could save
you money on costly repairs in the long run. After we are done with the routine
maintenance and inspection, we will run the system to ensure it is working as
smoothly as it should. And in no time at all, your irrigation system will be
watering your lawn as it should!

irrigation system or a new one installed, call us here at Fernbrook Landscaping
